I’m grateful to be an artist. I’m grateful that creative outlets exist. It’s through writing and drawing that I’ve been able to find solace in dark times. Writing in particular has been very grounding for me. I endured a lot of abuse and hardship growing up and as a result, have often struggled to feel worthy, or enough.

Despite heavy suffering, I’ve always felt a spark within. The spark is that flicker of hope that reminds me that change is possible. It’s that guiding light of faith that compels me to be brave and take action. And it’s that supernatural force that pushes me to create. It’s through creating that I’m able to not only process and release pain, but also bring voice to the things that matter, the things that aren’t talked about enough in society. I hope that by sharing my story I’m able to open people’s eyes and hearts to some of the horrors and crises of our world—so that we can do better.
